Matt Sherwood, Chief Executive Officer
Sherwood's diligent work ethic and focus are on advancing WeVidIt's growth. Sherwood began his career at Morgan Stanley before leaving for quantitative portfolio management roles at Access Global Partners and The Schonfeld Group, and Ivy Strategy. Before founding WeVidIt, Sherwood managed a multi-billion-dollar portfolio at MMBB Financial Services. His success in the asset management industry was a product of his skills in data science, forecasting of sentiment, and the identification of sustainable trends.
Despite achieving success in the investment industry, e.g. being distinguished by Chief Investment Officer Magazine as 40 Under 40 member and receiving Institutional Investor's Emerging Leader Award, Sherwood left to pursue the passion he has in WeVidIt. He believes that WeVidIt's innovative business model and data-driven approach will transform the Film and TV industries over time.
Sherwood considers himself a lifelong learner and has success as a researcher. Not only has he published a multitude of journal articles on data science, investing, and ESG, but Sherwood also wrote the first-ever textbook on ESG Investing; "Responsible Investing: An Introduction to Environmental, Social, and Governance Investments" (Routledge). Sherwood is a Guest Lecturer at Columbia University and The King's College.
Sherwood graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program at Liberty University in an accelerated three years, where he also played Football. After obtaining his Masters of Business Administration, he studied business quantitative methods and electronic commerce on the doctoral level and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from Northcentral University. Sherwood is a proud Board member for the Guide Dog Foundation & American Vet Dogs and a committee member for the Foundation for Fighting Blindness.
