Practice Pitch
Breakfast
June 8th, 2021

About

Our "Practice Pitch Breakfast" is not a competition. It is a time for entrepreneurs and investors to fellowship, learn from each other and build  relationships with one another no matter where we are located. Join us for our upcoming virtual "breakfast" where you will learn from companies practicing their pitch and gain insight from guest speakers on industry specific topics. Our goal is to come in as strangers and leave as family.

Investor Feedback

VHill Productions
  • That was the most beautiful video I’ve ever seen in Lion’s Den. The quality and the creativity were very impressive. It draws me into your mission.
  • Most investments are approached with a priority on the financial side (ie the numbers).
  • What you just presented introduced me to the mission of what you are doing.
  • You must give some ability to be able to buy into the mission. What are you precisely asking us to do? What are our next steps?
  • Give us all the information to see into this mission.
  • Tell me how I am going to invest and how my investment will have a return to it.
  • Give us the typical investor angles that we must look at.
  • I agree, those were amazing videos!
  • The videos speak for themselves – how long have you been in the business?
  • When you tell your story, your background is important, and you have a very impressive background!
  • Talk about the projects you have done, what the average size is, were they profitable. Get that on the table.
  • If you are making money and you are profitable, that is something you need to let people know.
  • Tell us what you are going to do and why you are raising the money.
  • Beautiful cinematography and videography.
  • Let me suggest thinking about the label of “Christian Media”. It covers a broad spectrum. Think of its purpose, the goal, what do you want to happen when people watch it, and who do you anticipate is going to watch it?
  • There is a great value in material that encourages believers. My encouragement is to figure out the specific ministry for you.
Noble Story Co.
  • I really appreciate their professionalism.
  • I like the revenue model that shows how you will have the production revenue come in.
  • I really like what they are doing.
  • Has this new model worked before? Convince us how it will work? How do you clients pay for that?
  • I thought you did a great job of how you explained your stories, why you do what you do and the competency of your team.
  • I really enjoyed your presentation and everything that has been said up until this point.
  • As an investor, the doubt in me says, that I would have a piece of 25% equity in this, but what if the deal does not come through?
  • Maybe on your next pitch you could go through what happens if movie deal does not go through? It would give me more reassurance.
  • I did not hear about your past or history – maybe share some prior wins that you may have. Share with us where you were a year ago and where you want to be? Show growth.
  • Maybe come up with an investment structure that if an investor makes an investment before a studio takes it on, they receive higher equity than if they put in money after you have the studio committed.
  • Of your five projects, how many of them are fully picked up by studios now?
Last Pew Media
  • I love it. I think the approach is really good.
  • I like the differentiated vertical with the millennials.
  • The topics you chose resonate.
  • I think the business-side of this was really quick. Share what you are doing and then slow down the pace so I can get a good view of the numbers.
  • Change your position from the creative side to the numbers side, so the investors can catch up.
  • Creatives use a different language and investors get particularly scared when things are “edgy” and “creative” because creative, from an investor perspective means they are going to go off the ranch.
  • How would you convince your investor pool how you are going to retain that faith-based angle, and still be funny?
  • You had some of your market and target audience. I am glad you started off with your target audience.
  • We want to see more of the details and the numbers, so maybe cut out a few examples of the funny parts and lead more with the numbers.
  • There needs to be humor in the Christian world!
  • If you are constantly irreverent, but how do you segue into the real message?
  • You are really tracking a critical problem of millennials and GenZ.
  • You are bringing in social media and how you make money off of social media is a completely different model. Maybe give some examples to investors of how it works.
